VAT
Selling to consumers in Germany from another EU country: below €10,000 a year of cross-border sales EU-wide your home VAT usually applies; above it, Germany's rate applies, usually reported through the One-Stop Shop.
Confirm with your accountant.
Cookie consent
Cookie rules sit in the TDDDG (formerly TTDSG); data protection is supervised by the federal states and the federal commissioner.
Accessibility (EAA)
Since 28 June 2025 the European Accessibility Act covers many online stores selling to consumers in Germany, implemented in Germany as the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (BFSG). Micro-enterprises providing services are exempt.
Check your own obligations.
A specialist for EU websites, stores and ads
Based in the EU, I build sites and stores for businesses in Germany, the Nordics, the Netherlands and beyond. GDPR consent, VAT handling, the European Accessibility Act and multi-country selling are planned in from day one.
Prices are in euros, invoiced from Finland. This page is general information, not tax or legal advice.
The EU-ready store checklist
Ten checks I run before a store sells across borders. Tick what is already true for yours; each finished group earns its stamp.
0 of 10 ready. Open items are normal. They are what the first week of an EU project covers.
Your privacy notice is yours to approve; see how this site handles it in the privacy policy. Accessibility checks against the EAA are covered on the accessibility page.
Questions from EU businesses
Can you build in German, Swedish or Dutch?
Yes, the site or store itself: separate URLs per language, translated slugs, hreflang, local currency, date and number formats. The words come from your team or a native-speaking translator, and I check every page renders, indexes and checks out correctly. I do not publish unchecked machine translation on a client site.
How do EU VAT rules affect my store?
Once your cross-border sales to consumers in other EU countries pass €10,000 a year in total, you usually charge VAT at each buyer's country rate and can report it through the One-Stop Shop. I set up the store's tax rules and invoices to match; your accountant confirms your position and the rates.
What about GDPR and cookies?
I set up a consent banner where Reject is as easy as Accept, no analytics or ad tags fire before a choice, and Google Consent Mode follows it. Forms collect only what you need, and the privacy notice lists your real tools. Regulators read the rules slightly differently by country, so legal sign-off stays with you.
Same clock as Tallinn, one hour ahead of Berlin, Paris and Stockholm: most EU calls fit inside both our working days.

Fixed prices in euros, excluding VAT. A store built for one market first, then cloned per language and currency, is where I would start most EU businesses.

One market first, then the next
Launching six countries at once multiplies every mistake by six. I build one market properly, then copy what works.

- 2
Fixed quote
A written price within one working day, with each market listed as its own milestone.

Consent, tax, checkout and tracking tested with real orders in one country before anything is cloned.
- 4

When I would not be the right choice
Said here, so nobody finds out after a kick-off call.
- 01
You need native copywriting
I build multi-language structure and SEO, not marketing copy in German, Dutch or Swedish. A translator or your team writes the words.
- 02
You need a legal or tax opinion
VAT, GDPR and EAA decisions belong with your accountant or lawyer. I build to their decisions and document what was set up.
- 03
You sell licensed goods cross-border
Alcohol, tobacco or medicines bring per-country licensing that shapes the checkout. Bring in that specialist before the build.

Tell me where you sell today and which countries come next. You get a written fixed price in euros within one working day.
If it does not work out: the price is agreed in writing before work starts, each market is its own milestone, and every account, file and login is yours from day one, so you can stop after any market and keep what was delivered.
