What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. This policy also covers similar technology: browser local storage and the tags, often called pixels, that ad platforms use to measure ads. All of them need your consent unless they are strictly necessary for something you asked for.
Pikselipolku uses three categories. Only the first one runs before you choose.
The three categories
Necessary always on
Keeps the site and the quote form working, protects against abuse and remembers this choice for 12 months. It does not track you, so it cannot be switched off.
Stored in your browser and not shared with anyone.
Analytics analytics: off
Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows which pages people read and where they leave, so I can fix the pages that do not help. Reports are totals; I do not use them to identify you.
Provider: Google Ireland Ltd. Data may be processed by Google LLC in the US under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. owner to confirm
Ads measurement ads measurement: off
Tags from Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Advertising and TikTok tell me which ad led to an enquiry, so I stop paying for ads that do not work. With this off, ad click IDs (gclid, msclkid, fbclid, ttclid) are not saved with your enquiry.
Providers: Google Ireland Ltd, Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd, Microsoft Ireland Operations Ltd and TikTok Technology Ltd. Data may go to the US: Google, Meta and Microsoft use the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; TikTok uses other safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. owner to confirm
Ads measurement is not personalised advertising. Even when you accept everything, the setting that allows ads personalisation (remarketing audiences) stays off, because this banner only asks about measurement.
How to change or withdraw your choice
Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it, and you can do it at any time:
- use the Open cookie settings button below or at the top of this page;
- select the small cookie button in the bottom corner of any page;
- select Cookie settings in the footer.
When you reject or withdraw a category, the site deletes the cookies of that category it can reach on this domain (_ga, _ga_<id>, _gid, _gcl_*, _fbp, _fbc, _uetsid, _uetvid, _ttp) and stops saving ad click IDs with enquiries. Cookies that a provider set on its own domain can be removed in your browser settings.
Your choice is remembered for 12 months. You are also asked again if the tools or purposes change, because the banner version changes with them.
How tags wait for your consent
The site uses Google Consent Mode v2 with every category set to denied by default. Google Analytics, Google Ads and the Meta, Microsoft and TikTok tags load only after you accept the matching category. The quote form keeps the ad click IDs gclid, msclkid, fbclid and ttclid only when ads measurement is on; otherwise those fields stay empty.
How your choice is recorded
Your choice is kept in your browser's local storage under the key pp_consent, as a small record: the banner version, the time, the categories you allowed, how you chose (for example "reject all") and a random ID. It holds no name, email or IP address.
To be able to show that consent was given, the same record may also be logged on the server. owner to confirm whether the server log is enabled and how long it is kept
Blocking cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, and most offer a private window that clears them when closed. Blocking necessary storage will not break the site, but it will ask for your cookie choice on every visit, because it cannot remember the answer.
Legal basis
- Finland: section 205 of the Act on Electronic Communications Services (917/2014). Storing or reading information on your device needs your consent, unless it is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. Traficom's guidance requires that refusing is as easy as accepting and that nothing is pre-ticked.
- EU: article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC). Where cookies involve personal data, the GDPR also applies, and the legal basis is your consent under article 6(1)(a).
- UK visitors: regulation 6 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR, following the Information Commissioner's Office guidance. The site uses one consent standard for everyone and does not rely on newer UK exemptions for analytics cookies.
How personal data from cookies is handled, kept and shared is described in the privacy policy.
